Here are some of the most important competitions in Call of Duty:
Call of Duty League (CDL)
If you're a big Call of Duty fan, you're probably familiar with this competition. The Call of Duty League features most of the major professional teams in the CoD competitive scene. This league has several stages and different events throughout the year.
The famous Champs, or better known as Call of Duty World League Champions, is the world championship of Call of Duty. In Spain, we have the representation of Miami Heretics, with a team entirely composed of Spaniards in this major league predominantly represented by American players.
Some of the teams in the competition include: Atlanta FaZe, New York Subliners, Los Angeles Thieves, Toronto Ultra, Optic Texas, Boston Breach, and the Spanish mix of Miami Heretics.
Call of Duty Challengers
The Call of Duty Challengers is similar in recognition to the CDL. The main difference is that this is held on a continental level across North America, Europe, and Asia. CDL teams cannot participate in the Call of Duty Challengers.
Participating in the Call of Duty Challengers allows you to aspire to join the CDL (Call of Duty League). Annual events are held frequently.
Call of Duty World League Championship
The famous Champs, which attract the attention of CoD fans and shooter enthusiasts in general, is the annual world championship organized by Activision.
In the Call of Duty World League Championship, 32 teams from around the world participate. Of these 32, only 16 teams compete to enter the Playoffs and become world champions.
Who won the last Call of Duty World League Championship?
The last Call of Duty World Championship, held last year in 2023, was won by the New York Subliners, a roster composed of Hydra, KisMet, Skyz, and Priestaahh.
Interestingly, no organization has won consecutive world championships, not even the legendary CompLexity or Evil Geniuses, who had a golden era in Call of Duty on an international level.
