EA Sports FC 26 reveals new Icons: Ibrahimovic, Iniesta, and Alex Morgan as pre-order bonus
EA Sports FC 26 will officially launch on September 26, 2025, with players who pre-order the Ultimate Edition gaining early access starting September 19.
To strengthen its dominance over rivals like eFootball (celebrating its 30th anniversary update) and Rematch, EA has upgraded its three key modes:
- Career Mode, with deeper management tools.
- Clubs (formerly Pro Clubs), focused on social and competitive play.
- Ultimate Team, the franchise’s flagship mode.
The new Icons of EA FC 26
The highlight this year is the arrival of 12 new Icons to Ultimate Team, expanding the roster of football legends available to players:
- Zlatan Ibrahimović
- Alex Morgan
- Andrés Iniesta
- Toni Kroos
- Carolina Seger
- Giorgio Chiellini
- Sissi
- Francesco Totti
- Marcelo
- Steffi Jones
- Oliver Kahn
- Cha Bum-Kun
With these additions, the Icon pool now includes 26 cards, alongside all-time greats such as Ronaldo Nazario, Thierry Henry, and Steven Gerrard.
New archetypes
Some of these Icons will debut as new archetypes:
- Andrés Iniesta as a creator, embodying vision and precision.
- Alex Morgan as a finisher, representing her clinical scoring ability.
These archetypes give players more tactical flexibility when building their squads in Ultimate Team.
How to unlock them
By pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 26 before August 26, players will receive one of these Icons as an exclusive bonus. During the one-week early access period, the pool of Icons will be reduced to 15.
As always, Icon cards are untradeable, meaning they cannot be sold on the transfer market.

Beyond the Icons, Ultimate Team will see new card mechanics, structured seasonal content, and weekly challenges, ensuring that it remains the most played competitive mode in the football gaming world.
